Paper Towel Stock Up!

Hello!!
I'm super excited about how my shopping trip went today. One of my biggest words of advice is to plan your transaction before hand with some backup plans in case anything goes wrong. Fortunately, having a backup plan today made things move really smoothly.

Here is what I got!

Transaction 1:
4 Scotch-Brite Sponges 3 pack $4.29 B1G1 Free
- (2) $.75/2 internet printable HERE

2 Caress Body Wash $4.99 B1G1 Free
- (2) $.75/1 internet printable HERE
Originally I was going to buy 4 of these but when I realized that the scent I wanted wasn't included, I decided just to buy 2. Also, this body wash is another one of those items that seems to shrink in size every few months and stay the same price... I hate when manufacturers do that :( In this case, the price I got it at wasn't that great of a deal.

2 U by Kotex Pads 2/$7 get $3 RR
- (2) $1/1 U by Kotex manufacturer coupon from  3/25 SS
Or print it online HERE
Great price!

2 Nice Aluminum Foil .79 each
Fillers

3 Viva Paper Towel 6 Rolls $5.99
- (1) $1/1 Walgreens Coupon (Took off $3)
- (3) $.85/1 Manufacturer coupon from 3/11 SS
or print $.50/1 HERE

I also used $20 RR from last week.
And I had $2.15 left on a gift card.

To my surprise, when I bought the 3 Viva Paper Towels, a $5 RR printed. Since it made them such an amazing deal, I decided to buy 2 more packages in another transaction.

Total:
$10.23 including tax

Saved:
$54.50

Transaction 2:
2 Viva Paper Towel 6 Rolls $5.99
- (1) $1/1 Walgreens coupon (Took off $2)

Used $3 RR from transaction 1

Total:
 $7.82

Saved:
$7.00

And a $4 RR printed!

My final purchase for the day was the great deal on Hot Wheels cars. They are priced .79 each at Walgreens, but as I predicted, they were totally sold out by the time I got to the store. So I decided to price match at Target. I always get nervous using coupons at my Target because they don't seem to know what they're doing and they always try to accuse me of some sort of unethical couponing. But since I knew I was only doing 1 simple transaction, I decided to go for it!

13 Hot Wheels Cars .79 each (Price Matched) Originally $1.02 each
- (1) $3 off $10 of Hot Wheels Cars IP
No longer available

Total:
$7.99 including tax

Saved:
$5.99
I plan on saving some of these as presents for one of our nephews, and then saving the rest to donate as presents for Christmas! Always gotta think in advance :)

A Few Great Deals For This Week!

Hello!
Today I was able to grab a few items from Walmart, Walgreens, and Target. Unforuntately for me the coupon I was most excited for this week ended up being a lower value than it was supposed to be. It was the Suave deodorant coupon and was supposed to be $.75 but ended up being $.50. Fortunately, I ordered some of the $.75 coupon so I can go back to the store later this week and pick up some super cheap deodorant. Normally I love Secret deodorant the most but there hasn't been a single deal on it in a very very long time. I'm running low on this in my stock so I decided to try the Suave.

One more thing! The newspaper today has a coupon for $1/1 carefree pantyliner. Use these this week at CVS or Walmart for FREE pantyliners! They are $1 at CVS and $.97 at Walmart so FREE in both places!

This definitely wasn't my best week in term of savings but I needed the deodorant and I will save way more next week! Here is what I got.

Walmart:

6 Suave Deodorant .97 each
- (6) $.50/1 from 3/18 RedPlum
I didn't realize until after I got home that the coupon says a limit of 2 per shopping trip. So I messed up! Be careful and be sure to only use 2 per trip to the store.

The deodorant is also availbale for $1 at CVS this week or you can price match it at Target! What I plan on doing is going with my husband to CVS and Walmart so we can each get 2 at each store. These probably won't go out of stock since the coupon lasts for so long and since they are always .97 at Walmart.

Total:
$2.73 including tax
This made them $.45 each!
She accidentally scanned one of my coupons twice so I got an extra .50 off. I usually let them know what happened but I didn't notice it until I had already gotten to Walgreens :(

Saved:
$3.50

Target:

2 Printer Paper 400 Sheets $3.14 each
- (2) $1/1 Target coupon no longer available
Seems like a great price to me! I go through so much paper between school and printing coupons.

Total:
$4.58

Saved:
$2.00

Walgreens:

Transaction 1
1 Acai Berry Cleanse $10 get $10 RR
- (1) $4/1 RR from last week

Total:
$6.00

Saved:
$8.99

Transaction 2
1 Acai Berry Cleanse $10 get $10 RR
No coupons

Total:
$10.00

Saved:
$4.99

I really wanted to try these out just to see how they work. It only says I saved $4.99 but the price on the shelf was $23.99 so I think I really saved a lot more. I plan to use the $20 RR next week to get some great items for free! That is why Walgreens is the best. I paid $16 to try out something I really wanted, and now I have $20 to spend next week!

Detergent Deal at CVS

Hello again! Since my spring break is almost over I'm determined to snag some really good deals before I have to get back to work!

Today, I got some Purex Detergent at CVS. Apparently Purex is discontinuing their 3-in-1 laundry sheets and replacing them with the new Purex Ultra-packs. The Ultra-packs are Purex detergent measured into individual tablets. Each bag comes with 18 tablets.  Since they were on sale at CVS and I had a coupon, I figured why not try them out! Detergent that isn't in liquid form is so much easier for us to handle since we live in an apartment and have to walk some distance to do laundry.

Here is what I got!

4 Purex Ultra-packs $2.49 each
- (4) $1/1 from 3/11 Redplum

1 Purex Liquid Detergent $2.49
- (1) $.50/1 from 3/11 Redplum (I got this for laundry I have to hand-wash).

Total:
$8.83 including tax

Saved:
$23.90

Each bottle or package is normally between $5-$7!

Back From the Dead...

Hey everybody! I bet I'm going to have to start advertising my blog again since I've been gone for so long... hahaha. Basically, life just got busy and I stopped adding to my blog. Even more so, I pretty much stopped couponing and have been living off of my stock for a few months. It was kind of nice to take a break from searching for deals, dealing with grumpy cashiers, and rummaging through newspapers, but I'm glad to be back!

I'll probably be starting off very slowly and might not update every week but if you still enjoy looking at my blog and trying to find deals, hopefully this will be the place for you!

Here is what I got this week.

Walgreens:

2 Right Guard Deodorant $4.49 B1G1 Free

- (1) $3/2 IP no longer available

2 Right Guard Deodorant $2.29 B1G1 Free (Clearance?)
- (1) $3/2 IP no longer available

4 Scotch Mailers .39

Total:

$2.50 including tax
And I got back a $4 RR for buying 4 Right Guard products!

Saved:
$21.98

And I paid with a gift card so FREE!

The Results of the $40 Challenge!

Are you guys ready for this??

I am truly amazed by what I was able to get with $40. I mean... I feel so blessed to be able to give away all of this food. My experience has been fantastic. Normally when I go to stores to cash in on deals, I get anxious and worried that something might go wrong, but with this $40 challenge, I couldn't wait to get to the store and buy these things! I knew deep down that everything would work out... and it did.

Here is the finally tally of my $40 Challenge:

Total Spent:
$40.59 (Oh well! lol)

Total Saved:
$100.31

This means that all of these items on regular price would have cost $140.90. But I got it all for $40.59! I know that this is not the typical savings I have, but this challenge has enabled me to donate so much food to those desperately in need.

Now... Here is a final picture of everything I am donating, along with a list of the items pictured. Keep in mind that there are few additions to my donations because I took out a few items from our pantry to add to the collection.

Final List:
16 Boxes of Stove Top Stuffing
10 Boxes of Betty Crocker Mashed Potatoes
12 Bags of Idahoan Mashed Potatoes
6 Bags of Betty Crocker Cornbread/Muffin Mix
8 Jars of Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce
8 Cans of Del Monte Vegetables
8 Cans of Campbell's Gravy
13 Cans of Hunts Tomato Sauce
10 Boxes of Gelatin
4 Boxes of Zatarain's Rice
2 Cans of Beans
4 Cans of Progresso Soup
2 Boxes of Nestle Hot Chocolate
4 Boxes of Spaghetti/Noodles
4 Jars of Spaghetti Sauce
1 Package of Tuna

=
112 ITEMS!!!!!

That's like paying only $.35 per item!

Here is a closer look....

I really hope that this blog entry isn't just like the rest... and that you guys take something away with you by reading about my challenge and my results. WE can make a difference in this world, even in the simplest of ways. I can go to sleep tonight knowing that I may have helped feed some very hungry people this holiday season. But it will not stop here! I will continue to make a difference in this world and I hope that you guys realize that you are capable of greatness! Use your coupon skills and your savvy ways to help those in need this season. It took me less than a week to put this entire package together. IMAGINE what this world would be like if everybody took $40, or even $20 or $10 out of their paycheck and used it to buy food for those in need. Let's just say this world would be a better place.

So go out and make a difference! You have the power to help those in need, just by making a small sacrifice. If you can't devote $40 to the challenge, just start with $5 or $10! Every penny counts. Besides, we can all afford to sacrifice some junk food or a trip to the movies here and there if it means making a difference in our hometown.

I hope you enjoyed keeping up with the challenge and I hope you found some great deals that you plan on pursuing! Good luck and please share your thoughts with me :D

Hello all of you beautiful people! I made a couple of quick trips today to use up some more of my money from the $40 challenge. Here is what I bought:
